In Time...

I really would like to post something to the blog, but my OCD says I have to start with the day Aliza was born.  Maybe one day I'll have enough time (and mind to think) to do just that.  For now I'll just post these pictures.  Isn't she the sweetest thing?  :-)

Love

I've never been so in love as I am with these two.  My love for both grows every day.

The Time is Drawing Near

What do you do the day before you life is about to change forever?  That is what I asked Trent earlier today.  His response was, "do the thing you will never be able to do again," and that is exactly what I did...what we did. We spent most of the day relaxing.  It started off with us sleeping in, but that could have been caused from me getting up every hour during the night to use the bathroom.  We didn't make it to church, but I had spent time with God watching one of my Bible study videos this morning at 5am in between bathroom breaks.  :-)  We watched the pastor, Ed Young, on TV while we ate breakfast.  We sat close sharing the newspaper while listening to Christian music.  I took a long bath, and read more information regarding labor and delivery to know what to expect tomorrow with an induction.  I washed a load of clothes, and made sure the kitchen was clean.  I addressed thank you notes, and Trent worked on the email distribution lists he will be using tomorrow to send out information regarding Baby G.  We both talked with our parents to discuss when we will see them tomorrow, because there isn't a need for anyone else to lose sleep.

Of course, I can't help but think of the many, many things I need to do, but realize at this point it doesn't matter.  It doesn't matter that the house isn't perfect, or that I haven't read every single book on parenting.  We are about to welcome the most beautiful baby that has been "fearfully and wonderfully made".  No matter what happens tomorrow, God is good, and He will help me from being anxious in anything that comes. Our lives will change forever, and I can't wait to see our baby girl for the first time.  Tomorrow we become parents which was in God's plan before He created the heavens and earth. Thank you, Lord, for this blessing.  We await the joyful noises we will soon hear for the first time.

"Grow"ing in Christ Together

On February 6th, we had our final shower.  Up until this point, we had showers from those we spend the most time with on a daily basis and those who have known us the longest.  This day is with our new family...our church family.  These were women from our Sunday School class and the choir at Calvary.  They are so kind and sweet, and I'm very appreciative that they would take time to honor us with their time and gifts.
The Hostesses - Rosann, Connie, Leigh Ann, and Julie
The REALLY yummy cake!

Beautiful table with some delicious food.

All the beautiful and useful things we received!
I'm not sure I've shown it or had the opportunity to tell it, but we are truly blessed by the new church family God has brought into our lives.  I never knew that almost a year and a half later, I would be a part of a new group of people to continue our journey...our journey of growing in Christ.  God is so Good!

"D" Day

Today is "D" day.  It is the day my doctor said would be my due date.  She didn't guarantee Baby G would arrive today, but just used as an estimate.  Technically, when she measured me, February 25th is the due date.  Either way, I'm sitting here thinking about how I'm not in a hurry for her to be here.  Not because I don't want to see her not to mention be over the acid reflux, but because I want to cherish these last few moments with her.  This will be the last time(s) I have her all to myself.  I'll miss the kicking and squirming.  I'll miss quiet times we have had together.  The moments alone with God.

I've been asked about inducing my labor, and to be honest, I rather her come all on her own.  While I do like to plan, I truly believe this is on God's time and not mine.  He created her.  He has formed her.  He has made her beautiful.  He knows her inside and out.  He loves her so much, that He has already sent His Son to save her from this world.  He has a special day and time for her to make her arrival.  I am a little nervous at not knowing when that time is, but I will lean on Him to take care of us both.

If He is good all the time, then why wouldn't He be good in this?
